 Gloria Williams – Biography

Gloria Jean Williams is a dedicated 38 year member of Jackie Robinson Auxiliary Unit 252 in Los Angeles where she was Unit President for two consecutive years. She also served as District 23 President. Her eligibility is through her late father Isaiah Jenkins (WWI) who is interned at the Los Angeles National Cemetery in West Los Angeles.She is a proud mother of two adult children, Nut Butterfly and Craig Williams. She has three adult grand children and four great grandchildren. All are members of the American Legion Family. Gloria is a native of Los Angeles. She graduated from Bishop Conaty High School, and received her BA from Pepperdine University. After 33 years of service she retired from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors where she was Executive Officer for the Business License Commission. She has served the Department in the following: Credentials, Legislative, Jr. Conference Committee, Sgt-at-Arms, Jr. Activities, Membership, Community Service, Marshall, Leadership, Americanism, Children & Youth, VA&R, and Constitution & Bylaws. Gloria is looking forward to serving the Department and expanding our program goals and services to Veterans and communities in California.
